TRADITIONAL BRACES

Barakat Orthodontics offers traditional braces, the most common type of braces, made of high-quality stainless steel or titanium. Traditional braces are comprised of three main parts:

• Brackets are attached to the teeth with special glue that holds them in place.
• Archwires are made of thin, flexible metal that runs through the brackets and puts pressure on the teeth to guide them into alignment.
• Ligature elastics are the colorful bands or ties that secure the archwire to each bracket. The elastics are changed with each visit.

Traditional braces are more comfortable today than ever before. Advancements in technology have produced brackets that are lower profile, smoother and just as durable as before. The elastic ties also add an element of increased comfort and style for patients as they are small and come in a variety of colors to please all of our patients.
